Workshop Information
Event Date:
Thu, 06/24/2010 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Full Description:

This workshop will serve as a space to bring together workers rights organizers to discuss common issues and develop more effective strategies for building a human rights movement in the south and throughout the regions. Participants will actively engage in dialogue that will address effective application of the Human Rights Framework, and use collaborative approaches to fight injustice by encouraging activists of all struggles to come together as one.

Workers rights are human rights and as an organizer using direct action campaigns, organizing sessions and training can raise awareness among workers and others as to the many ways their human rights are violated in the workplace and their communities. We will teach these methods in teh workshop. Through networking and coalition-building we seek to raise awareness to racisim and oppression, and as organizations teach workers and others how to dismantle it.
