Workshop Information
Event Date:
Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Event Location:
WSU Student Center: 29
Full Description:

Walmart has increasingly come to define working America. No other private, profit-making enterprise in the history of our country has had the economic scope and impact of Walmart.

From where we shop to where we work, to the types of jobs we do, and the source of the products we buy, Walmart has transformed our lives and is increasingly defining our possibilities as workers, consumers and communities. This workshop will explore how we can change Walmart to reverse those trends.

We will focus on the short term choices Walmart places in front of consumers, communities, policy makers and others that hide the long term realty of Walmart’s true impact. We will look at what has been done to change Walmart in the past, and explore partnerships and campaign opportunities going forward.
