Workshop Information
Event Date:
Wed, 06/23/2010 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
Event Location:
WSU Student Center: 289
Full Description:

This workshop will education participants about the dangerous and
disastrous police-ICE partnerships that systemize racial profiling,
criminalize communities, and create a growing distrust between local
law enforcement and immigrant communities. Arizona has been a testing
ground for these partnerships and SB1070 is the culmination of this
dangerous blurring between local police and federal immigration
enforcement. There is a growing movement to ask for a termination of
all these programs throughout the country. The workshop will explain
the various ICE programs but mostly focus on vibrant local organizing
campaigns. The workshop will discuss what communities can and have
done to resist these partnerships
