Full Description:

For poverty to finally be abolished, we must engage the non-homeless communities regarding homeless issues. Believing that understanding begets compassion and compassion begets action, CHANGERS (a southern branch of the PPEHRC) has practiced several forms of creative engagement with the non-homeless communities in our city. These include a Homeless Tour of Homes, a Political Urban Plunge, a Truth Commission, and others.
We will describe the events, their purposes, their success, and their failures at this workshop presentation. With other participants, we hope to build a collective framework for action to move people "from service to solidarity."
