Full Description: 

This workshop will be a demonstration of ISM Palestine's work and an engaged discussion of how to further solidarity with Palestine in our home communities.

In the first portion, presenters would discuss different aspects of working with ISM:

* very brief history, principles and structure, reasons behind the composition

* tactics used in solidarity work in Palestine: farmer accompaniment, demonstration attendance, de-arrests, general organizing, media work

* privileges that international activists have that enable them to become involved on the ground in Occupied East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza

* visual/ practical presentation of tactics: videos and photographs of actions, role-playing de-escalation and de-arrests

* update about current grass-roots campaigns that ISM is involved in

Bringing the tactics home:

*What is engaged solidarity work, on the ground in Palestine and in our home communities

*update on ongoing solidarity campaigns

*how to apply direct actions and confrontational activism in the US
