Event Location:
Cobo Hall: D2-09
Full Description:

A storytelling session about the Confluence with Toxic Soil Busters and Green Guerrillas Youth Media Tech Collective (GGYMTC), followed by group discussions. Workshop will incorporate success stories, short video presentations, skits and discussions on eco-justice themes. Sharing work and organizing strategies, we’ll address challenges and connect issues and communities.
The Climate Confluence Network involves educators, activists, artists, media-makers, folks living off-grid, parents, grandparents, and young people in the Northeast. We create digital media, are performance artists, test and remediate toxic soil, build community gardens, fight to free all political prisoners, organize against ICE, and stand in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance. Toxic Soil Busters Co-op is a youth-led worker co-operative that organizes for eco-justice in Worcester, Mass. The team of 10 youth creates safe yards and gardens, performance art, and documentary film. GGYMTC make their own media; advocate for equitable living and learning environments; get their "hands dirty" learning about renewable energy; and, analyze important social, political, economic, and environment issues which affect their lives as low-income youth of color.
