Workshop Information
Event Date:
Fri, 06/25/2010 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
Event Location:
WSU Prentis: 15
Full Description:

In this workshop we will use the documentary "Queers Fight the WTO" to engage in a conversation on why LGBTQI individuals and communities must organize with other marginalized groups in order to achieve liberation for all. We will discuss the state of the mainstream LGBTQI movement and ways that we as LGBTQI activists and organizers can organize with an integrated anti-oppression analysis that encorporates class, race, gender and sexuality. Using the organizing model of Allyship we will demonstrate practical ways activists can use to create progressive multi-issue LGBTQI organizing strategies.
