APIs in America: Storytelling and Strategizing

Workshop Information
Event Date:
Wed, 06/23/2010 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
Event Location:
WSU Student Center: 29
Full Description:

We seek to convene Asian and Pacific Islanders (APIs) and allies at the USSF to create a space for storytelling and strategizing. APIs are the fastest-growing minority population in the US, but our communities are often missing from national debates on some of our country's most pressing issues. How do we at the USSF create alliances to raise the voices and heighten the visibility of APIs? We ask participants to actively share about the issues they are facing in their own communities and strategies that they have used. In the interests of collaboration, NAPAWF will also speak to the work that we do on behalf of API women and girls around immigrant rights, reproductive justice and young women's leadership development.
