OUTCOMES:
1. Identifying key issues we must win that will directly impact our communities: education, jobs, health care and safe communities.
2. Identifying successful strategies for engaging young people both in campaigns and advocacy—becoming their own messengers and voting bloc
3. Identifying successful ways to frame the issues that matter most to young people

AGENDA: 75 mins
1. Introduction of The Surge: (15 mins)
-Who are they? How are they changing the political landscape?
-Youth Agenda: How are our issues impacting their lives?
2. Case Study Panel Discussion: What were successful engagement strategies and what are you organizing to build on that success in 2010? (30 min)

3.Breakout Session: (30 mins)
Participants will group themselves around one of 4 policy areas that they are working to address (jobs, health care, safe communities and education)
i.Dialogue and discussion with guided discussion questions about real youth engagement strategies, upcoming campaigns
