This workshop will explore the relationship between confronting Zionism and dismantling other intersecting forms of oppression as well as the meaning and practice of solidarity and joint struggle. Everyone is welcome to participate in the workshop and the discussion and exercises are intended to support Jewish anti-Zionist and White anti-racist activists in clarifying our role and work as part of Palestine solidarity and liberation and anti-war movements and implications for anti-racist and anti-imperialist organizing. In addition, the workshop will prepare us with tools to challenge the accusation that any criticism of Israel or Zionism is “anti-Semitic”. The session will offer exercises, discussions and multi-media tools towards confronting our own struggles around Jewish identity, family and community relationships and Zionism. In doing so, we lay the foundation for a movement that seeks to transform histories of European colonialism, Christian supremacy, the Nazi holocaust and other histories of anti-Jewish and anti-Arab persecution, and US imperialism towards a future in which security and self-determination is based on solidarity rather than the oppression, exploitation and domination of others. |
