Economic Oppression & Possible Solutions for People with Disabilities to Gain Employment The main idea for this presentation is how to engage with disabilities within their workplace and everyone has a right to gainful, sustainable employment with or without reasonable accomodation regardless of his or her disability.
I will engage participants through open dialogue, case studies that will be done in group exercises, question & answer periods and what actual audience perception is of disability vs "normal." For example: What does a "normal" person look like? Do people with disabilities actually want to work? How can the community help to engage people with disabilities in the community and in the workplace in regards to employment?
The alternatives could include: Breaking down the myths surrounding people with disabilities and their desire to work and possible solutions and collaborative efforts to provide the best practices for employing people with disabilities. This could be done through role plays or open dialogue.
