Re-Building a Solidarity Movement with Puerto Rico's Anti-Colonial StruggleThe objective of this PMA is develop ideas and resolutions which will lead to the re-building of a movement in solidarity with the oldest remaining colony in the world: Puerto Rico. A number of proposals and models to achieve this will be shared and some efforts to re-build the movement will be examined. Participants will participate in a dialogue and discussion as to the strategic role that Puerto Rico occupies in the relationship of US imperialism, Latin America and the growing Latino communities in the United States. The PMA will propose new forms of organization and new constituencies which will help conform a transnational social movement of solidarity and activism that are adequate for the 21st century and that engages youth of color and white youth. A transnational movement in solidarity will be a bridge between US youth and Puerto Rican youth and other activists in the island.
