A World in Crisis: The Case for Socialism Socialism has re-entered the political debate--but how do we get there? This meeting will challenge the distortions of socialism's opponents and examine the tradition of socialism from below. The discussion will draw upon the experiences of participants as workers and oppressed people. The aim is to examine the ways in which collective action and struggle can link the best of the socialist tradition to the challenges we face today, from combatting the effects of the economic crisis to opposing war and the destruction of the environment. These struggles can become the cornerstones of a movement for a socialist society based on human needs and workers' self-management rather than profits.
