Mobile Voices: Cell-phone based community journalism Mobile Voices (vozmob) is a platform for immigrant workers in Los Angeles to create stories about their lives and communities directly from cell phones. Vozmob helps people with limited computer access gain greater participation in the digital public sphere. In this workshop, we'll show participants how to post multimedia stories directly to the web from a cell phone, and we'll talk about how this can be used as part of popular communication and as an organizing tool!

To create a more humane and democratic society by responding to the needs and problems of disenfranchised people through leadership development and educational programs based on Popular Education methodology. Specifically our goal is to organize and educate immigrants concerned with solving problems in their own communities.
