For a Militant Global Women's Movement in the 21st Century During the Third International Assembly (TIA) in Hong Kong of the ILPS(International League of People's Struggle), in the resolution of Workshop 7, one of the specific actions called for “an International Conference of women in 2010, to commemorate the centennial of International Toiling Women's Day, leading to the formation of an anti-imperialist global women's movement”. The purpose of this workshop is to assess the achievements, shortcomings and setbacks of the worldwide women's rights movement during the last 100 years by way of honoring the pioneers and celebrating the centennial. We will be discussing the conference that will be held in Montreal, Canada were an action plan for advancing the women's rights movement will be drawn up along with the starting with the formation of an anti-imperialist women's alliance. We hope to start that process through story sharing at the USSF.

GABRIELA National Alliance of Women is a grassroots-based alliance of more than 200 organizations, institutions, desks and programs of women all over the Philippines seeking to wage a struggle for the liberation of all oppressed Filipino women and the rest of our people.
