Motivation
We are witnesses to a moment in history when communities begins to awaken to their own potential in the social, economic and political realms of United States society. Now more than ever we need those services and tools that will help us to participate fully and to make valuable contributions to this society. Now more than ever, we need to support one another, and together advance like the dignified, whole members of this society that we are.

Vision

The radio stations plan is to develop the social and cultural resources that can help it improve its programming and the contribution it will make to the daily life of its listeners. The Foundation needs financial resources and community alliances to enable it to offer to the radio staff a stable working environment and to the volunteers and listners greater opportunities and satisfaction.

This is born of the recognition and renewal of the ideals on which this project, which would become KBBF-FM, was established 37 years ago. The ideals, which are needed more urgently now than ever, include giving voice to a community that has little access to the mass communications media; producing and broadcasting programs that will educate us, inform us, celebrate the beauty of our cultures, and will help us make our way in this country. In addition, the radio was meant to serve as a cultural bridge that would give both our community and the majority society an opportunity to learn about and understand each other.
