Full Description:

The World Social Forum on Migration (WSFM), the largest international people's event on migration, and the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), the main inter-government forum on migration, will be held this Fall.

The WSFM is expected to draw thousands of social movements from around the world to Quito to explore Ecuador's constitution on migrant rights and how to promote it universally etc.

The GFMD is promoting "managed" migration for development, ignoring migrant rights. The US government is actively participating in the GFMD in Mexico, and its version of "immigration reform" is following the same direction as the GFMD.

Discuss with migrants rights movement leaders from around the world who are at the forefront of organizing mobilizations around these forums, and are from the organizing committees of the WSFM and the People's Global Action on Migration, Development and Human Rights (PGA) - a people's event at the GFMD.
