Want to hear about how the solidarity economy is growing through out the world? Participants will have a chance to hear from leaders of RIPESS, an intercontinental solidarity economy network, who will talk about how the solidarity economy is advancing in Asia, North America, Latin America and Africa and Europe. There will be time for discussion about successes, challenges, what could be adapted to other places and how to achieve scale.
The global solidarity economy movement builds on a rich foundation of real practices and policies such as cooperatives, participatory budgeting, fair trade, social finance and currency, community supported agriculture, perma-culture, community land trusts, indigenous and the commons movement. The solidarity economy brings together these building blocks so as to build a viable economic system that serves social and environmental needs.
