This panel will bring together perspectives from the GJWG, Indigenous Feminisms, women of color, the Queer Liberation Committee, academic and international speakers on the incorporation or not of feminism and gender justice in and among progressive US Social Movements. An outcome of the panel will be to outline where gender justice is located and to identify the work that needs to be done towards bringing: a greater awareness of gender inequality to the forum process, an understanding of how gender inequality supports and sustains capitalism and militarism, discussions on why women, gays, lesbians, queers, transgender, and intersexuals continue to be victims of sexualized violence and economically marginalized, and an appreciation of why so much of women's work as caretakers and otherwise continues to be unpaid and unrecognized even within social movements.
