This workshop on the special role of organizing in the South sets the stage for analysis, dialogue and action. Panelists will analyze the unique history of the southern region of the United States and its significance in the larger battle for democracy. They will highlight key issues of today. Participants will discuss the inadequacies of our democracy. They will share their experiences in Southern organizing, and will work on collective strategies for structural reform. Tools and resources will be provided to enable participants to engage in a collective effort of social transformation in the South.
