Descripción Entera:

International labor solidarity is more than a slogan or a clarion call. It is essential to the welfare of workers and unions facing off against multinational corporations and capital flight in a globalized economy.

The impediments to organizing international solidarity in support of workers in struggle are great, more so when those workers are in a nation embroiled in a military conflict, especially when that conflict involves the US and its military forces. How do we build solidarity with the workers and labor movement of Iraq in a war zone? What forms of support are needed? What kinds of activities are effective? US Labor Against the War (USLAW) has developed solidarity with the unions and labor movement of Iraq. The workshop will review that experience and consider how it might apply in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Haiti, Iran, Palestine or other war zones?
